““When I made the film The Invention of Lying, they gave me a private jet for getting back and forth between New York and London. I thought, ‘I will never use it’ but I ended up using it every weekend. You turn up, right, and the airport is completely empty. I mean, there’s just someone at the desk and then the pilot, who says, ‘Are you ready to go?’ and you say, ‘Don’t you want to see my passport?’ and he goes, ‘Oh yeah, I suppose I’d better.’” ”
Website Offers Price Info to Go
Conklin & de Decker, a business aviation research and consulting firm, has introduced ACE On the Go!, an online interface for its Aircraft Cost Evaluator product. The website--accessible from any Internet browser, including those on mobile devices--provides subscribers with information about variable and fixed aircraft costs, annual budgets, quick comparisons of up to three aircraft and more. Reports are customizable to meet user-specified criteria and can be exported to Word, Excel or PDF. The software incorporates fractional data, guaranteed-maintenance-plan information, aircraft photos, exterior and interior scaled drawings and limited performance stats for more than 500 aircraft. The annual subscription price for the Aircraft Cost Evaluator is $650 for jets, $550 for turboprops or helicopters and $450 for piston aircraft. Those prices include one free update.
