HyperMach Aerospace has announced that its 20-seat supersonic business jet, SonicStar, will be able to fly at Mach 4.0. This is faster than the originally announced top speed of Mach 3.6. At Mach 4, the SonicStar would be able to travel from New York to Dubai in just 2 hours 20 minutes.

The National Geographic Channel recently spent two weeks filming at the Bombardier Learjet plant in Wichita for its Megafactories program. The show, which explores the inner workings of factories worldwide, will introduce viewers to the steps involved in making one business jet. The channel expects the episode to air early next year.

Dassault Aviation has signed a memorandum of understanding with China's Minsheng Financial Leasing for 10 Falcon 7X and 10 Falcon 2000S business jets. The deal, which the companies expect to finalize before the end of the year, follows firm orders for five Falcon 7Xs that Minsheng placed earlier in 2011 and an order for a Falcon 900LX.
