Readers who participated in the 2009 Aviation International News FBO Survey picked Sugar Land Regional Airport as the top supplier of ground-support services this year, bumping long-time number-one Wilson Air Center Memphis to second place. Located near Houston, the city-owned and -run Sugar Land was the only FBO with an overall average score above 9.00 in this year's survey.

From June 15 to 21, the world's best golfers will be at Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y., for the U.S. Open, the second major event of the season. This marks a return to Bethpage for the championship event, which the state park hosted in 2002. This year, as then, golfers will play the par-71 Black Course during the championship days (June 18 to 21).

An increase in sales activity in the first quarter has spilled into the second, and the uptick appears to be more than a temporary rise.
