Just wanted to congratulate you on Jeff Wieand’s excellent and accurate article [“Choosing Your Aviation Lawyer,” August/September 2012 ].

I have been in the aviation business since 1971 and have worked with numerous attorneys during that time. Your article is right on. Doing it right takes a lot of specialized experience. I recently sold an aircraft to a public company that had a small fleet of aircraft and had never looked into the issue of sales/use taxes on aircraft. Once educated, they were amazed at the complexities of aircraft acquisitions, ownership and operations.
