Gulfstream G650 Development Back on Schedule

Flight testing of the wide-cabin Gulfstream G650 has resumed. Testing had been suspended following a November 25 maiden flight that was cut short due to slight vibrations in a landing-gear door, but Gulfstream says it has since identified the cause of the vibration; is developing a solution; and doesn't expect the issue to delay testing or certification. "The pilots' reports [on the latest test flight] indicate that the G650's flying qualities were outstanding," said senior vice president of programs, engineering and test Pres Henne. Certification is expected in 2011 and entry-into-service is scheduled for 2012.
