CitationAir Guarantees a Tax Break

The Federal Excise Tax, which funds the FAA, expired July 22, which means that commercially operated business jet flights will now cost 7.5 percent less. Of course, Congress could opt to reinstate the tax at any time, which is where a new offer from Cessna-owned CitationAir comes in: Purchase a nonrefundable 24-month jet card from the company and you won't have to pay the Federal Excise Tax for the full two years even if Congress reinstates it during that time. (If it does, CitationAir would cover the levy.) To receive the guarantee, you must purchase a card worth at least $100,000 and you must do so before Congress reestablishes the tax.
