4 Off-the-Beaten-Path Beaches Worth a Visit

It's been a crazy year.

1. Wineglass Bay, Tasmania, Australia. A 90-minute scenic walk (no car access) takes you to this spectacular beach.

2. Long Beach, Vancouver Island. Surfing and whale watching are two reasons to visit this rustic beach, close to the quaint Tofino/Uculet Airport.

3. Monkey Mia, Shark Bay World Heritage Area, western Australia. An amazing place to encounter wildlife, especially dolphins, which swim up to shore.

4. Polihale Beach, Kauai, Hawaii. At the base of the Na Pali cliffs and accessed down an old cane unpaved road, this beach is great for shelling, long walks and spectacular sunsets. —E.S.
