BJT Attends 2026 New York International Auto Show

Here are the standouts, including Lamborghini’s Temerario.

BJT made its annual visit to the New York Auto Show to check out what manufacturers have to offer drivers. Fuel prices may be up, but it doesn’t cost anything to dream. Here are some of our favorites.

Porsche 911

2026 Porsche 911 GT3 RS with Manthey Racing Kit

Porsche’s 992.2 generation 911 GT3 RS is already one of the raciest cars you can buy for the road, but the Manthey Racing team has taken the aero package even further. The kit helps produce 1190 lbs of downforce at 177 mph without reducing efficiency. Other upgrades include four-way adjustable coilover suspension, braided steel brake lines, optional racing brake pads, and optional lightweight wheels. Power comes from a 4.0L flat-six producing 525 hp and 342 lb-ft of torque, connected to a 7-speed sequential-shift PDK gearbox. If lapping circuits like the Nürburgring is your favorite way to unwind, then you need to have the ultimate tool for the job. The kit, which maintains the factory Porsche warranty, will cost at least $70,000 more than the GT3 RS with the Weissach lightweight package, which itself starts at roughly $300,000.

Karma Amaris
Karma Amaris

2026 Karma Amaris

Capable of a 400+ mile range, 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, a 165 mph top speed, and producing 708 hp and 676 lb-ft of torque, this head-turning grand tourer is greener than you’d think. A range-extended EV, it can drive about 100 miles on electricity before its turbocharged BMW four-cylinder internal combustion engine kicks in to generate power to charge the battery. That means most of the time you can cruise in EV silence, but you’ll still have the ability to take a longer trip without range anxiety. Chinese-owned Karma Automotive builds its cars in California, and if the name seems familiar, you may be familiar with Fisker Automotive. Karma emerged from the bankruptcy of Fisker Automotive, which produced the Fisker Karma, from which this car has descended. Pricing is expected to start around $200,000.

Zenvo Aurora

2026 Zenvo Aurora Agil

If exclusivity is at the top of your list, Danish hypercar manufacturer Zenvo has you covered with its Aurora. The company is producing a limited run of 100 cars, and only 50 will be the track-focused Agil version. The grand touring Tur version comprises the remainder. The Agil weighs only 2,866 lbs, and features a bespoke 9,800 rpm 6.6L quad-turbocharged V12 engine that produces 1,250 hp and 1,033 lb-ft of torque. This is the most powerful V12 engine ever fitted to a road car, but it also has an additional electric motor that adds 200 hp. All that power drives its rear wheels (the Tur has all-wheel-drive) via a 7-speed sequential gearbox, and 0-60 happens in 2.5 seconds. Its elaborately shaped bodywork and aerodynamic accoutrement produces 1,940 lbs of downforce at 155 mph. Pricing starts at about $2.8 million.

Hyundai Boulder
Hyundai Boulder

Hyundai Boulder Concept

Hyundai’s Boulder concept serves as a design study for the company’s first-ever body-on-frame platform, which the company will first use for a pickup truck it plans to debut in 2029. An SUV like the Boulder is likely to follow. It looks set to compete with the Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler with its 37-inch mud-terrain tires and high ground clearance, and roof-mounted safari windows evoke the Land Rover Defender. In harmony with the rugged exterior styling, its interior design steers away from the trend of large touchscreens and brings back tactile knobs and buttons. Hyundai hasn’t shared many details, but it has said that an extended range EV powertrain could be in the works, similar to the Karma Amaris, in which an internal combustion engine charges its batteries when necessary. Hyundai will build the new vehicles in the U.S. using American steel.

Lamborghini

2026 Lamborghini Temerario

Replacing the Huracán as the entry-point to Lamborghini’s supercar lineup, Lamborghini has embraced a hybrid powertrain for its new Temerario. The naturally aspirated V10 engine is out, and a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 capable of revving to a super high 10,000 rpm is in. Additionally, there are two electric motors at the front axle to provide all-wheel-drive, and one electric motor in the 8-speed dual clutch transmission provides torque fill. The powertrain produces a combined 907 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. 0-60 arrives in 2.7 seconds, and its top speed is 211 mph. Thanks to a new aluminum spaceframe, chassis rigidity is up 20% over its predecessor, but so is weight. It adds about 550 lbs – some of that likely due to the added hybrid technology. Cost is up about $100,000 compared to the Huracán, starting at about $360,000, and you can order it with the Alleggerita lightweight package, which saves about 55 lbs, starting at $45,000.
