Bombardier Launches Global 8000 and Flirts with Supersonic Speeds

Bombardier launched its Global 8000 jet, which can connect cities 8,000 nautical miles apart at an unprecedented speed of Mach 0.94. The aircraft, which was unveiled in a high-energy event at the EBACE show in Geneva, is expected to be the fastest civil aircraft since the Concorde. In fact, in flight tests, it has broken the sound barrier, exceeding Mach 1.0.
