Houston's Post Oak Hotel
When you start to travel again, this new 38-story property should be on your radar screen.
Can a hotel change the shape of a city? It can in Houston, where the skyline of Texas’s largest metropolis is expanding westward. An economic boom has extended the city’s silhouette seven miles west to the Uptown Galleria shopping and business district. There sits the new 38-story Post Oak—the city’s only AAA five-diamond hotel—which has quickly attracted celebrities and the elite of Houston society.
Many of the property’s 250 guest rooms and 20 executive residences provide stunning views of the city’s historic downtown and nearby Memorial Park, home to a recently refurbished golf course that will be the new site of the PGA Tour’s Shell Houston Open.
Among the hotel’s attractions are a Rolls-Royce dealership just off the atrium. Dining options range from Mastro’s Steakhouse and a French-style café called Boucheé Patisserie to Bloom & Bee, whose light fare includes homemade pasta and juicy eight-ounce burgers.
