London's Beaverbrook Town House

Beaverbrook Town House, which opened in September 2021 in London’s affluent Chelsea neighborhood, is the city sister of its namesake in Surrey, the glamorous country hotel that Lord Beaverbrook once called home. The flamboyant press mogul and wartime MP was revered for living a colorful life in the 1920s and 1930s and for hosting friends such as Winston Churchill, Elizabeth Taylor, Rudyard Kipling, and Laurence Olivier. 

The new establishment in Chelsea, which occupies two adjacent Georgian structures on Sloane Street, has been carefully curated to capture the playful spirit of this time. Its 14 luxurious suites have been individually designed to mirror the style of one of the city’s old theatres, and all of them offer a delightful riot of textures, colors, and objets d’art.

The duo behind Beaverbrook’s inspired interiors is designer Nicola Harding and the property’s creative director Sir Frank Lowe, whose name has been given to the property’s elegant bar where irresistible signature cocktails are served. Adjacent to Sir Frank’s is the exquisite Fuji Grill, a restaurant that artfully combines contemporary Japanese cuisine with the chic ambiance of Sloane Square.
