Sokol Story Generating Online Buzz

BJT editor Jeff Burger's blog post about trying to secure an interview with then NetJets CEO David Sokol is generating heavy traffic on the Web site of our sister publication Aviation International News. The blog post details a months-long process in which Sokol imposed unusual conditions for an interview and then, after the conditions were met, refused to talk to BJT. "I'm describing [the experience] here because it may shed some light on Sokol and the ways he operates," said Burger. Sokol abruptly resigned in March from NetJets and parent company Berkshire Hathaway after it was disclosed that he had invested in Lubrizol, a lubricant manufacturer, shortly before Berkshire announced a deal to buy it.
