We Go Inside The Praetor 600

Embraer's head of design talks us through the philosophy behind the Brazilian manufacturer's flagship aircraft.

Embraer’s Praetor 600, the Brazilian company’s flagship business jet, evolved from its Legacy 500. The name Praetor is derived from the Latin for a Roman magistrate, and Embraer Executive Jets' vice president of design operations, Jay Beever, explains how the moniker relates to what the aircraft does for its owner.

The $21 million super-midsize jet offers performance and range improvements over its predecessor, thanks to added fuel capacity, new winglets, and more powerful engines. The model, which has a range of 4,018 nautical miles, features a new interior design called “Bossa Nova” that takes inspiration from the boardwalk at Rio de Janeiro’s famed Ipanema Beach.
