New CEO to take helm at Embraer Executive Jets

In an unexpected move, Embraer has tapped business aviation finance veteran Michael Amalfitano to be president and CEO of its Melbourne, Florida-based Executive Jets business unit. Effective March 1, he will succeed Marco Tulio Pellegrini, “who will assume another leadership position [at Embraer] to be announced soon.”

Amalfitano joins Embraer with 35 years of experience in business aircraft finance, having held several key positions at equipment-leasing companies such as Stonebriar Commercial Finance, Banc of America Leasing, Fleet Capital, and GE Capital. “His remarkable experience and industry reputation adds considerable strength, network, and market presence to the company,” Embraer said.

“I’m honored to assume the executive position Marco has held and privileged to lead an amazing team of dedicated employees and leverage our highly valued portfolio of aircraft,” Amalfitano said.
