PlaneSense Adds Cuba, Bermuda to Service Area

PlaneSense has been authorized to fly into seven Cuban airports, including those in the country’s two largest cities—Santiago and Havana.

You can now use a PlaneSense fractional share to fly to Cuba and Bermuda. The Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based company will employ Pilatus PC-12 turboprop singles for travel between South Florida and Cuba, but will use only Nextant 400XTi twinjets for flights between the U.S. and Bermuda due to the overwater distance.

PlaneSense has been authorized to fly into seven Cuban airports, including those in the country’s two largest cities—Santiago and Havana. Having completed all the appropriate applications and certifications, the company made its first such flight in December. While the U.S. ban on travel to Cuba was lifted last year, passengers must still meet one of the 12 categories for passenger travel to the country.

“Traveling to Cuba, visiting Old Havana, experiencing the lifestyle, the music, the classic cars—it’s an extraordinary opportunity, whether you’re visiting for business or leisure," said PlaneSense CEO George Antoniadis. "We’re so pleased to be one of the first companies to offer this destination to our PlaneSense aircraft share owners so they may experience Cuba’s beauty and authenticity at this unique time in U.S. and Cuba history,” ANtoniadis also noted that the addition of Bermuda provides access to an international center for financial services, a premier vacation destination, and the host of the 35th Annual America’s Cup in May.
