Another bizav veteran joins Aerion

Aerion is continuing to expand its lineup of seasoned business aviation executives, adding former Gulfstream president Bryan Moss to its board of directors. Moss brings a long background in the development and production of high-end business jets; he spenr 13 years with Gulfstream in senior roles and before that served as president of Bombardier Business Aircraft. He also has held roles with Lockheed-Georgia Company, selling various aircraft, including the Lockheed JetStar.

Moss joins Aerion a little more than a month after the announcement that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Lockheed Martin to explore development of the Aerion AS2 supersonic business jet with a possible joint venture covering all phases of the program, from engineering to certification and production.

This supersonic business jet just got a hefty cash investment from Boeing.

“Aerion has made huge strides, forging relations with GE Aviation and Lockheed Martin, and is attracting talent from top to bottom,” said Aerion executive chairman and CEO Brian Barents. “Bryan Moss is among the most knowledgeable and most respected figures in business aviation, and brings immensely valuable experience to our board.”

The move reunites the one-time colleagues. While Moss led Bombardier Business Aircraft, Barents headed the Bombardier Learjet program. During his time with Bombardier, Moss steered the introduction of the Global Express. Later, at Gulfstream, he played a role in the development of the G650.

“I see the supersonic Aerion AS2 as the logical extension of business jet capability for the 21st century and am delighted to be associated with the visionary Aerion organization,” Moss said.
