Sino Swearingen Aircraft gets new backer and name

Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corp., manufacturer of the SJ30 light jet, has a new majority owner and a new name. Emirates Investment and Development [Emivest] of Dubai became the company's main shareholder in June and subsequently renamed the San Antonio-based manufacturer Emivest Aerospace Corp. Emivest owns 80 percent of Emivest Aerospace, with the remaining 20 percent held by a variety of shareholders, including its Taiwanese investors, SJ30 designer Ed Swearingen, and Doug Jaffe, one of the original backers.
