European Business Aviation Association CEO departs after 11 months

Brandon Mitchener took the helm of the European Business Aviation Association on April 3, 2017.

Brandon Mitchener, the CEO at the European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) for the past 11 months, has left the association, EBAA recently announced. Mitchener is a French and U.S. citizen who had a 25-year career as a journalist and public-affairs professional in Europe before taking the helm of EBAA on April 3, 2017, succeeding Fabio Gamba.

“A search for a new leader of the Secretariat will be conducted,” EBAA said in a statement, adding that the association has a “robust organizational structure” to continue moving forward with its key events and initiatives, such as its annual general meeting and the launch of a new communication strategy this month. “Additionally, preparations for the European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition [EBACE] in May, together with co-organizer NBAA, will continue uninterrupted,” it said.

Board chairman Juergen Wiese—along with board members Marwan Khalek, Graham Williamson, Robert Smith, and Maxime Bouchard, and EBAA’s senior management team—will lead the association until a new CEO is named.

“EBAA has built a strong foundation for future growth, with a range of exciting projects and opportunities ahead of us,” said Wiese. “On behalf of our members, the board, Secretariat and I will continue our strong advocacy of business aviation in Europe and will continue to move our association forward as we have done for the past 41 years.”
