Executive AirShares Ups the Ante for New-hire Pilots

Salary increases and better scheduling are lures for the best and the brightest at customer service

Kansas-based Executive AirShare wants to hire 25 pilots in the next six months, and it is sweetening its offer with higher salaries. Pilot-in-command and second-in-command candidates can expect salaries 18 to 30 percent higher that what is currently offered by the company. They can also expect a more favorable eight-on/six-off schedule cycle. “We’re not immune to the pilot shortage that permeates the entire aviation industry, said Executive AirShare COO Harry Mitchel.

Executive AirShare serves the central U.S. and Great Lakes regions, operating Bombardier Learjet 45XRs, Embraer Phenom 100s and 300s, Cessna Citation CJ2+s, and Beech King Air 350i turboprops. It also offers aircraft management and charter services.

Pilots are leaving corporate aviation to return to the airlines.

As of April 2, pilots joining the company at the second-in-command level will start at $56,000. Beginning July 2, PIC salaries will shift to the new pay scale, meaning that captains on Phenom 300s, for example, will start at $100,000, an increase of 25 percent compared with the previous salary.

“We’re looking for skilled pilots who deliver excellent customer service and consistent, high-quality experiences every day,” said Mitchel. “We’re confident that a more competitive compensation package, including salary, schedule, and lifestyle, will allow Executive AirShare to continue identifying top pilots to service our growing base of family-oriented shareowners.”
