A Grand Canyon Grand Event

Grand Canyon National Park celebrates its centennial with events throughout 2019 and a birthday party on February 26—its opening date a hundred years ago. L’Auberge de Sedona is marking the anniversary year with a three-night package that includes aerial and ground tours of the Canyon. Meanwhile, for those who’d prefer to stay around Phoenix or Tucson, several new resort experiences beckon:

Mountain Shadows (Paradise Valley). Blending contemporary and mid-century modern style, this boutique property hails back to its 1950s roots as a hideaway for Hollywood stars. Under Canvas Tucson (Tucson). One of the newest of the Under Canvas properties offers winter and springtime glamping at America’s oldest dude ranch, Tanque Verde. Featuring 26 safari-style tents, this outpost provides daily housekeeping, king-size beds, the option for en-suite bathrooms and showers, wood-burning stoves, and private decks for late-night stargazing. Adjacent to Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest, Tanque Verde Ranch offers spectacular views of the high desert landscape. Under Canvas guests have access to ranch amenities, including dining, La Sonora Spa, tennis, horseback riding, mountain biking, and jeep tours.
