Nashville Charter Firm OK'd for Reagan National Flights

Averitt Air has become the first Nashville charter company since Sept. 11, 2001, to be approved by the Transportation Security Administration to operate private flights from Nashville International Airport to Reagan Washington National Airport. Due to tight security restrictions, only 30 gateway airports have been authorized to operate flights into Reagan National, which handled just 130 general aviation flights in 2009. Averitt Air--which offers maintenance, aircraft fleet management and other services in addition to charter--is a subsidiary of Averitt Express, a provider of freight transportation and supply-chain management in more than 100 countries.
