Executive Airport Opens in Southern Maine

The former naval air station in Brunswick, Maine, near Portland, has reopened as Brunswick Executive Airport (BXM). Airport owner Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority (MRRA) forecasts that in its first year, the facility will sell some 100,000 gallons of fuel and handle 9,000 aircraft movements. MRRA envisions the airport becoming a major maintenance, repair and overhaul facility; a place for transient business aircraft passengers to meet with local businesspeople; a refueling stop; and a jumping-off point for transatlantic business flights. Norwood, Mass.-based FlightLevel Aviation is providing FBO services.
