Self-Landing Tech and a Built-In Espresso Bar: Inside the Phenom 300EV

Embraer's best selling light jet just got an upgrade that could save lives.

Embraer Executive Jets recently announced its third aircraft refresh this year with the Phenom 300EV, adding Garmin Autoland, autobrake, rudder-by-wire system, and a slew of other improvements to the best-selling light jet. The move builds on the February launch of the Praetor 500E and 600E, both of which are now certified by the FAA, EASA, and Brazil’s ANAC. According to Embraer, the 300EV has completed flight testing and is expected to receive the same trio of approvals by year-end, with first deliveries set for late 2028. Price is $13,995 million (2026 dollars).

As the largest business jet equipped with Autoland, the Phenom 300EV can execute an automated landing in the unlikely event of pilot incapacitation. Landings and takeoffs are also assisted by autobrake, while a new Embraer-developed multipurpose electronic controller (MEC) integrates rudder-by-wire and other electronically controlled aircraft functions. All three are first-in-class features in the light jet category.

Inside, the new Phenom gets a vacuum toilet to reduce odors, a redesigned galley with a high-power outlet and slide-out tray to accommodate a commercial-off-the-shelf coffee/espresso machine, and improved air circulation. As a factory-installed option, the 300EV includes the Gogo Galileo connectivity system, which works on the OneWeb low-earth-orbit satellite network. Starlink connectivity will also be available as an aftermarket solution through a supplemental type certificate.

“For well over a decade, the Phenom 300 series has set the standard by which every light jet is measured. Its undisputed position as the category leader reflects our relentless commitment to delivering unmatched performance, technology, comfort, and support,” said Embraer Executive Jets president and CEO Michael Amalfitano. “With the new Phenom 300EV, we are raising the bar once again. Through purposeful innovations combining enhanced safety technology, amplified performance, and thoughtful cabin refinements, we have introduced meaningful advancements that make flying more intuitive, seamless, and enjoyable.”

He told BJT that a 300EV demonstration tour is forthcoming.
