Video: Sikorsky’s S-97 Raider X2

The co-axial design of the S-97 Raider X2 technology demonstrator, combined with its innovative horizontal wing, tail plane and vertical rudder, is set to deliver new standards for speed and agility in a rotorcraft. At the 2026 Farnborough airshow, Sikorsky showed Charlotte Bailey of BJT sister-publication Aviation International News where the key differences are and why they matter. The company is seeking to find civil applications for this technology, which was originally meant for the U.S. military.
