Gulfstream's G280 Adds to City-pair Trophy Case

The super mid-size bizjet has notched more than 60 city-pair speed records since its 2012 service debut.

Gulfstream’s super-midsize G280 recently captured two more city-pair world speed records. On its way to the Avalon Airshow in Australia, the twinjet flew 3,332 nautical miles (6,170 km) from Singapore to Melbourne in 7 hours and 21 minutes, at an average cruise speed of Mach 0.81. The business jet already holds the record for the Melbourne to Singapore leg. On return from the show, the G280 again departed Singapore, this time headed for Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai, where it completed the 3,177-nautical-mile (5,883 km) trip in 7 hours and 18 minutes at a speed of Mach 0.82.
