Trump's Private Jet Suffers LGA Mishap

The Boeing 757 had its wing clipped by a taxiing private jet on Wednesday morning.

President Donald Trump’s private Boeing 757 was involved in a minor accident recently as it was parked at New York’s La Guardia airport. A Bombardier Global Express, which had just completed a short hop from Long Island MacArthur Airport, clipped the larger aircraft’s wing as it was being marshaled along the ramp near the airport’s general aviation terminal. No one was aboard Trump’s aircraft at the time of the incident, and according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, no injuries resulted from the mishap.

Extent of the damage to the aircraft is unknown, but the Global, registered to Long Island–based Navair, which had been scheduled for a transatlantic flight, instead departed later that day for Hartford, Connecticut, which is home to a Bombardier service center.

Trump used the 757 extensively during his 2016 presidential campaign, with it often serving as a backdrop for his airport rallies. He bought the retrofitted aircraft in 2011 from the late Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen.
