Million Air Debuts FBO in White Plains, NY

The bar for FBOs at New York’s Westchester County Airport (HPN) has been raised after Million Air held the grand opening of a facility recently at the New York–area business aviation hub. The event featured a concert by singer Chris Isaak and a static display with aircraft including a Cessna M2, Cessna Longitude, Embraer Legacy 450, and a Bell 429 along with several luxury automobiles. The opening culminated 20 months of construction on the 29,000-square-foot, two-story Adirondack-inspired building, the first FBO terminal to be built at HPN in decades.

It includes a 7,000-square-foot, four-lane, enclosed and heated porte-cochere, a complimentary staffed Starbucks coffee bar, three conference rooms, six fireplaces, a pilot lounge with en suite showers and two snooze rooms, a flight-planning area, a room-sized golf simulator, and 22 tenant offices—including a 4,000-square-foot suite occupied by flight-training provider Performance Flight. Of those offices, only two remain vacant, according to company president and CEO Roger Woolsey, who added that the building’s design incorporates more than 25,000 pounds of locally quarried stone to achieve its rustic yet elegant interior look.

Operators ready for long-promised rebound.

The $80 million investment also includes a 52,000-square-foot hangar, which was completed last May, and 100,000 square feet of additional ramp space. The facility’s former 10,000-square-foot terminal will be retained and converted into additional tenant space.
