It Took Two Jets to Get Taylor Swift to the Super Bowl

No need to drive from LAX to Vegas when your own airplane is flying in to pick you up.

Taylor Swift left her concert stage in Tokyo and made the 5,785-ish miles to the Super Bowl in Las Vegas with ease, arriving at around 12:55 p.m. local time on Sunday’s game day.

She flew the bulk of those miles—5,473 of them, from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport to Los Angeles International Airport—in a three-cabin Bombardier Global 6000 chartered from VistaJet and dubbed "The Football Era." The 14-time Grammy winner landed at LAX on Saturday at approximately 3:30pm Pacific time.

Though Swifties were wondering whether the megastar singer would hit the blacktop to make the five-hour drive to Vegas’s Allegiant Stadium, there’s new reporting that the billionaire girlfriend of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce took to the skies a second time, on game day, in her own 19-passenger Dassault Falcon 7X.

Apparently, the private trijet had been flown in from Nashville, the country music capital where Swift owns a home, to Los Angeles County’s smaller—and more discreet—Burbank Airport. (Burbank to Las Vegas: 276 miles.)

It's a good strategy to purchase a business aircraft that can achieve 90 percent of your missions—and enlist a charter aircraft to handle those rare ultra-long-range flights. Doing so can reduce both costs and emissions, whether or not your plan is to end up in the arms of a Super Bowl-winning NFL player.
